Charlotte Mason

The Charlotte Mason method is centered around viewing each child as a whole person and giving them a broad education, or a “feast”, as the British educator liked to call it.

The Charlotte Mason approach presents a wide curriculum, including poetry, handcrafts, nature study, art, music appreciation, as well as the common academic subjects. The goal is to allow each child to digest what is interesting and appropriate for them at the time. Instead of worksheets or quizzes, this style includes reading quality literature and asks the student to retell, or “narrate,” what they remember from their readings. The heart of the CM method is to nurture a love for learning and reinforce good lifelong habits, not just present facts and information.
