Overview ofIn Grandma's Attic
Arleta loves to find treasures in her grandmother’s attic, especially since each treasure holds a special tale! Her Grandma Mabel loves to tell stories from her childhood on a Michigan farm during the late 1800s. Mabel talks about her big brothers, her best friend, and her loving parents that did their best to raise their children with wisdom, kindness, and common sense. Mabel and her brothers got into a lot of mischief and learned many lessons. Sometimes Mabel had to learn these lessons the hard way.
Mabel’s childhood stories teach wisdom, responsibility, the importance of telling the truth, and how to laugh at your own mistakes. These stories also teach the beauty of making memories in everyday moments, cherishing what is important, and remembering to sharing stories of hope, joy, and gratitude with others.

My son and I loved the book, and really enjoyed all the activities and resources included in the study. The video links were especially helpful in helping him understand what life was like at the time the book was written. He ended his lessons by making a rain gauge, which was a perfect craft to go with the story. I recommend these book guides to anyone wanting to help their child explore a classic book!

My father’s dragon
This unit study is so cute and engaging.. I usually read a couple of chapters a day with my son and have him write a sentence in a composition notebook He enjoyed this unit study more than just writing in his journal.
