Introducing A Connected Christmas, Volume Two

For years my children and I have enjoyed doing Christmas school together to dive into the holiday season. As Christmas approaches, we pause many of our academic studies and shift to the story of the birth of Christ and how Jesus came to earth to seek and save the lost. In our home we spend time in Scripture reading the Biblical Christmas story together, making the story of Christ the focal point of the holiday season.

As we take this intentional time together, we sing hymns together, read poetry, and observe classical artwork. We also spend time reading heartwarming picture books, making crafts, and baking together. As my children have grown, Christmas school has become a tradition we look forward to each year. As the busy holiday season approaches, we know we will have space for fun and meaningful holiday traditions.

After using A Connected Christmas as a guide for many years, I am excited to share A Connected Christmas, Volume Two with you. A Connected Christmas, Volume Two continues the same holiday tradition of carols, stories, poetry, art, baking, and handcrafts designed to bring your family together during this holiday season, but with new picture books and activities for your family to enjoy.

What is A Connected Christmas, Volume Two?

A Connected Christmas, Volume Two is a three-week advent study designed to bring families together during the holiday season by reading the Biblical nativity story along with festive carols, stories, poetry, art, baking, and handcrafts. This holiday unit study brings families together by sharing in the delight of the holiday season with daily lesson plans, recipes, handcraft instructions and Scripture, hymn, poetry, and hymn display sheets.

This study continues the same format from A Connected Christmas, but with new picture book selections, hymns, art pieces, handcrafts and recipes for the whole family to enjoy.

Both A Connected Christmas and A Connected Christmas, Volume Two can be done independently. Both studies include a daily Scripture reading of the Biblical nativity story, paired with meaningful holiday activities for the family to enjoy.

Explore the Biblical Nativity story with A Connected Christmas, Volume Two

Each day of A Connected Christmas, Volume Two includes a daily Scripture reading that follows the Biblical story of the birth of Christ. These passages will be studied in chronological order to complete the Biblical nativity story by the end of the curriculum. As you open your Bibles together, you will read about the events that took place as Jesus was born, like the foretelling of the Birth of Jesus, Mary’s song, the birth of Christ, and the wise men.

Children will orally narrate the passage and complete a written narration in their Christmas Story Narration Notebook, which is included with the study. They will then illustrate the day’s passage, completing a 15-page keepsake by the end of the season.

The study also includes opportunities for Scripture memorization and copywork throughout the study.

Christmas picture books for kids in A Connected Christmas, Volume Two

Each day of A Connected Christmas, Volume Two includes a picture book reading with a coordinating activity. If you love reading books together with your children, you will love celebrating the holiday season with the books in this study.

Christmas crafts and baking in A Connected Christmas, Volume Two

This study includes opportunities for learning, but also for fun and festive time together. Each day of the study includes a hands-on connection that coordinates with the daily picture book reading, including recipes for baking or instructions for crafts. Some of the activities in this study include crafting paper stars, cookie recipes, and making Christmas tree ornaments together.
